De Afrikaanse melkboom: karaktervol en onderhoudsarm: De Euphorbia Trigona, ook wel Afrikaanse melkboom genoemd, is een unieke verschijning met zijn statige, vertakte vorm en frisse groene kleur. Deze plant lijkt op een cactus, maar is eigenlijk een succulente. Door zijn robuuste uiterlijk en minimale verzorgingseisen is hij perfect voor liefhebbers van een stoer interieur met een exotisch randje.
Deze plant wordt geleverd met een hoogte van ongeveer 70 cm en heeft een potmaat van Ø17 cm. Door zijn smalle, opgaande groei is hij ideaal voor kleinere ruimtes of als verticale eyecatcher in een licht hoekje.
De Euphorbia Trigona heeft zeer weinig water nodig. Geef pas water als de aarde volledig is uitgedroogd. In de zomer is één keer per 2–3 weken voldoende, in de winter zelfs minder. Let op: natte voeten kunnen wortelrot veroorzaken.
De Euphorbia Trigona houdt van veel zonlicht. Een plekje voor een raam op het zuiden of westen is perfect. Te weinig licht maakt hem kwetsbaar en zorgt voor langzame, slappe groei. Hij is dol op warmte en licht – net als zijn oorsprong in Afrika.

Afstoffen met een droge doek om het blad schoon en glanzend te houden
Voeding: geef in lente/zomer elke 6–8 weken wat cactusvoeding
Verpotten: om de 2–3 jaar met goed drainerende cactusgrond
Let op: bij beschadiging komt wit melksap vrij (licht giftig & irriterend) – draag handschoenen bij snoeien of verpotten
